Timber construction 8500 x 1500mm
This artwork in the Bondi Junction Residence uses roof framing salvaged during the demolition of the original roof. Timbers were fixed to the fence of the narrow side setback in a pattern inspired by memory of the Murray River. The artwork provides a backdrop to the horizontal window seat in the living room. The windows can be fully retracted beyond the wall and the strip garden has been planted with climbers and bromeliaeds and includes a fish pond. The climbers will eventually intertwine between the timbers. The artwork and the garden are lit obliquely at night and utilise the otherwise redundant setback to increase the perception of space within the small terrace house.
